Honoring Michael’s Legacy

From a very young age, Michael had a deep love for reading. One of his earliest milestones was receiving his first library card—a moment that marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for books and learning. It came as no surprise when he went on to earn a Master’s degree in Library Science. Michael truly thrived as a Research Librarian, where he found great joy in helping others find the information they needed.

After Michael’s passing, I created this foundation as a way to carry his spirit forward—by helping others access books, learning materials, and basic necessities. Over the years, many of you have received items from your wish lists through Michael’s Legacy. In 2017, I was proud to contribute to the Friends of Joyner Library at East Carolina University, supporting student awards and community programs in his memory. Michael's name is now honored on the Patrons Wall inside Joyner Library.

During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation also provided assistance with essential needs, including hygiene products for those most affected.

This foundation is not a non-profit organization, nor is it for profit. It is simply a labor of love—a mother’s way of honoring her son’s memory by continuing the work he cared so deeply about.
